Dominic Anciano was born in the East End of London. In the early 80s he created production company Fugitive Films, making pop videos for all the major artists of the time. Everyone from Elton John and Spandau Ballet to Duran Duran and George Michael used Dominic to produce their videos. Music television production reached its zenith for Dominic with "Music at the Ku Club" and the celebrations for the Barcelona Olympics, both of which starred Ray Charles, The Beach Boys, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet and a plethora of other music stars. It also featured the debut of Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Cabal singing their worldwide hit "Barcelona". The Ku was a 23 camera, 35mm shoot, and the Olympics was a live 21 camera OB shoot. Then that zenith was surpassed with the Freddie Mercury memorial concert at Wembley Stadium... Dominic produced a 26 camera live-feed, simultaneous OB of the concert, going out to a bigger worldwide audience than Live Aid.
In 1990 Dominic produced feature film "The Krays" starring Gary and Martin Kemp to huge critical acclaim. One of the most financially successful films of the decade, the film also won a fistful of awards, including Baftas, The Evening Standard and Toronto Film Festival. More success came when producing Cannes award-winning movie "The Reflecting Skin" starring Viggo Mortensen, "The Passion of Darkly Noon" starring Ashley Judd and Mortensen again, and sci-fi action movie "Death Machine" directed by Steven Norrington.
Dominic and Ray Burdis, his partner in Fugitive, hit on the idea of writing, producing, directing and even acting in their own work. Making "Operation Good Guys", a comedy series for the BBC, they were surprised to find that it had been accepted into competition for the Montreux Comedy festival. They were even more surprised to find that it had won the Rose D'or and the Prix de la Presse!
Moving back into features, Dominic wrote, produced, directed and acted in "The Final Cut" starring Jude Law, Sadie Frost and Ray Winstone. With "Love, Honour and Obey", Dominic added acting to his roles as writer, producer and director alongside Jude Law, Jonny Lee-Miller, Ray Winstone, Kathy Burke, Rhys Ifans, Sean Pertwee and Sadie Frost. Resting on his laurels, Dominic then left Fugitive to take two years off for his most successful production job yet, his son Tyler Joseph. But who needs flat laurels? He came back behind the keyboard and a camera to write and direct Ibiza Rocks for Channel 4, a seven part live music and reality drama built around the festival in the Balearics. The hit TV series was re-commissioned the following year.
In 2007 Dominic was invited to become the creative director for Warner Music Entertainment. He took the post and spent the next two years creating new concepts for TV and new media which spearheaded the Warner brand. Towards the end of 2008, a chance meeting on a flight from Mallorca and a discussion about the Spanish Civil War, saw Dominic become friends with Andy Middleton. The two quickly realized that their work skill sets perfectly dovetailed and ideas flew thick and fast. The new frontier was the monetizing of new media and in January 2009 O-Bit Media was born...
Andy Middleton has been involved in telecoms, Internet and new media for over 20 years. He has worked all over the world, holding senior positions in a number of leading telecom and technology companies.
Andy started his professional life as a Royal Marine Commando, and went on to serve all over the globe in 45 Commando RM. On leaving the services he started his working career in private security in the Middle East, before joining the international arm of BT at the time of the mid-80s "Big Bang".
He worked between New York and London with a number of the top financial companies of the time, modernizing their global infrastructure to adapt to the world of the new 24/7 financial markets. He left BT to join World Com just as it was issued the UK's third telecom license and for the next 12 years worked as a senior director in start-up telco's such as WorldCom, MFS and Alpha Telecom, as the telecom explosion of the 90s transformed the world of communications.
In 2000 a change of path saw Andy qualify as a FIFA Soccer agent and launch Career Sports, a soccer academy business aimed at developing and bringing talented kids from North America to the European leagues. He returned to telecoms in 2001, convinced that broadband and mobile communications would change the business world even more radically than he had experienced in the previous decade.
Andy's first position was as Senior Vice President - running the European operations of Pagoo, one of the world's first consumer VOIP solutions. Then, seeing the potential for the commercial world in text messaging, he formed InstaTxt,which led him, in turn, to join the Transact Group as their Chief Operating Officer, where he spent the last 5 years. At Transact he ran the core business, monetizing brands in the digital space across all media - TV, SMS, MMS, the Internet, and traditional IVR.
Andy's chance meeting and subsequent friendship with Dominic, convinced him that the converged digital solutions he was using to monetize brands were totally under-used in mainstream entertainment, and they formed O-Bit Media...
Lee Campion has been in telecoms since the late 80's. Lee was originally involved in telephone systems, datacoms, video conferencing and full outsourced telephony solutions. He discovered the premium rate business almost by accident, whilst at Kingston Communications in the mid 90's and quickly realised how to create and grow new revenues beyond expectations. Whilst at Kingston he grew the business to become one of the market leaders in the premium rate field. This did not go unnoticed and in 2001 he was headhunted by BT Wholesale to take up a senior position in the organisation.
Lee was Sales Director and one of the founder members of BT Agilemedia, the company BT created to capitalise on the booming participation media market. Success was rapid and impressive and BT's revenues grew ten fold from traditional service provider business to lucrative TV shows such as Pop Idol. X Factor, GMTV, Strictly Come Dancing and Deal or No Deal to name but a few.
Lee brings a wealth of telecoms, premium rate, new media and big company experience to O-Bit Media and firmly believes this is the place to be over the coming months and years.
